A woman refuses to share her inheritance, prompting her fiancé to throw a big tantrum.

A woman refused to share her inheritance, which led to a major argument with her fiancé and eventually caused her to seek advice online.

The couple, who had been together for five years, were engaged and planning to marry in May 2025. Shortly after their engagement, the woman’s grandmother passed away and left her a substantial inheritance from a lifetime of financial success.

She told her fiancé about the inheritance, and he appeared excited at first. However, she later overheard him telling his friends he planned to use the money to pay off his credit card debt and fund a long-discussed “boys’ trip,” assuming he would have access to it.

When she confronted him, he casually referred to the money as belonging to her grandmother and seemed to assume he could use it. She firmly told him the inheritance was hers alone and not available for his personal expenses.

The disagreement quickly escalated. The woman left the room upset, but later her fiancé confronted her and accused her of being selfish. He claimed that once they were married, her money would be shared, called her a “financial burden,” and insisted she was embarrassing him in front of his friends.

Disturbed by his reaction, she left the house and stayed with a friend. She later shared the situation on Reddit, asking if she was in the wrong.

Many commenters supported her, warning her about his sense of entitlement, his financial behavior, and his anger issues, and advising her to reconsider the marriage.
