A heart surgeon reveals four foods you should never eat because they harm your body.

When it comes to staying healthy, many factors matter, but maintaining a balanced diet is one of the most crucial.

Dr. Jeremy London, a heart surgeon who has gained significant popularity on TikTok for sharing health tips, recently posted a video highlighting four types of foods that can be harmful to your body.

Fast Food
Unsurprisingly, fast food tops his list of foods to avoid. Dr. London calls it an “edible food product,” pointing out that it offers little to no nutritional value. Research, including a 2017 article in the American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine, confirms that fast foods are high in calories but low in nutrients, packed with additives, artificial sweeteners, sugars, salt, and coloring agents—all of which can negatively affect health.

Soft Drinks
Soft drinks, referred to by Dr. London as “liquid death,” are loaded with sugar, contributing to obesity and diabetes. Even diet sodas, often considered a healthier alternative, can disrupt metabolism and increase hunger. Studies, including research from UCLA Health, indicate that even one soda per day can raise the risk of type 2 diabetes.

Dairy Products
Dr. London also warns against milk and other dairy products. Humans are the only mammals who consume milk past infancy, often from other species. Dairy is high in saturated fat, which is linked to obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s. According to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, dairy consumption has also been associated with a higher risk of breast, ovarian, and prostate cancers. Dr. London recommends limiting or avoiding these products entirely.

Alcohol
Finally, alcohol is described as “absolutely toxic to every cell in our bodies.” Dr. London stresses that even moderate or occasional drinking can be harmful. To optimize health, he advises focusing on diets rich in fruits and vegetables and consuming minimally processed foods like beans and whole grains.
