A 35-year-old woman recently shared an emotional story online about how a moment she expected to be joyful in her marriage quickly turned into something deeply distressing.
She had been married for over seven years to her husband, who was ten years older than her. Together, they were already raising four children. Although life was often hectic, she believed they were happily building the large family they had always talked about wanting.
Her husband had long expressed a desire for many children—something he mentioned both during their relationship and throughout their marriage. So when she discovered she was pregnant again, she planned to surprise him, expecting excitement.
“I couldn’t wait to tell him,” she said. “I truly thought he would be happy.”
But his reaction was not what she expected.
As soon as she showed him the positive test, his expression changed. He immediately denied it was possible, insisting they had been careful.
At first, she assumed he was simply in shock, but his unease continued.
A few days later, they went to a doctor’s appointment together, where they received even more unexpected news: she was about ten weeks pregnant—and carrying twins.

According to her account, her husband reacted with visible panic, repeatedly saying “no” as he struggled to process what he was hearing.
Even after leaving the appointment, he remained unsettled. Eventually, he admitted the truth behind his reaction: he felt overwhelmed at the thought of having six children.
