Trump posts a new harsh message about Obama on social media.

It’s been an active week for Donald Trump on social media, and he’s now making headlines again—this time targeting Barack Obama.

Trump has once more attracted attention after sharing a series of unusual posts, including a meme featuring Obama. This comes amid a week already filled with controversy, including a public dispute with Pope Leo XIV, whom Trump criticized as “weak on crime” and “terrible on foreign policy.”

The Pope responded indirectly, suggesting some global leaders have “hands full of blood,” and later clarified on April 13 that he did not intend his remarks as personal attacks and was not afraid of the Trump administration.

At the same time, Trump has been posting several controversial AI-generated images—one of which depicted him as Jesus Christ, drawing backlash from critics who called it blasphemous. Trump later defended the image, claiming he saw it as portraying him as a doctor.

On his platform Truth Social, Trump reshared a meme showing himself smiling while Obama looks away. The caption read: “When you see the guy who said ‘you’ll never be President’ at your inauguration,” accompanied by a simple “Twice” and a U.S. flag emoji.

Although the post didn’t appear to directly respond to any recent comments from Obama, it quickly drew attention online. Many users criticized it as unnecessary or immature. Some pointed to a past White House Correspondents’ Dinner moment where Obama joked about Trump, while others disputed the meme’s accuracy, noting Obama never directly told Trump he would “never be president,” though he did express doubt in 2016.

Criticism in the comments ranged from calling the post childish to questioning Trump’s behavior more broadly. Some users argued the exchange reflected poorly on him, while others defended Obama’s earlier remarks about Trump’s political prospects.

This isn’t the first time Trump has faced backlash for content involving Obama. Just two months ago, he was heavily criticized after a video shared on Truth Social showed Obama and Michelle Obama with their faces edited onto animated apes, accompanied by the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” which many viewers found offensive.
