A lobster diver who was accidentally swallowed by a humpback whale has revealed the unbelievable way he survived the terrifying encounter.<\/p>\n
In 2021, Michael Packard experienced a real-life \u201cJonah and the whale\u201d moment while working off the coast of Massachusetts.<\/p>\n
During his second day of diving near Herring Cove Beach in Provincetown, Packard left his boat, the Ja\u2019n J<\/em>, and entered the water hoping to collect lobsters. Instead, he suddenly became the catch.<\/p>\n The conditions seemed perfect that morning. The water was calm, the temperature was comfortable, and the ocean was full of marine life. Normally, Packard would simply dive down and collect lobsters from the ocean floor.<\/p>\n But that Friday morning took a shocking turn for the 56-year-old diver.<\/p>\n Packard later described the terrifying moment when everything changed.<\/p>\n \u201cSuddenly, I felt this massive push, and the next thing I knew, everything was completely dark,\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n He could feel himself moving and noticed the powerful muscles of the whale\u2019s mouth tightening around him.<\/p>\n At first, Packard thought he had been attacked by a great white shark, which are known to inhabit those waters.
