Hi Bright Side,<\/p>\n

I\u2019m 26 and my husband is 27. We\u2019ve been married for two years.<\/p>\n

Four months ago, we moved into our own house. It\u2019s quite spacious, and my in-laws contributed significantly by lending us 80% of the purchase cost.<\/p>\n

Since moving in, my husband\u2019s family of eight has come over every Sunday for lunch. They say the house is big enough for everyone. I\u2019m expected to cook, clean, and wash the dishes, and no one ever offers to help in the kitchen.<\/p>\n

Recently, I told my husband I couldn\u2019t continue like this anymore. He replied, \u201cThey helped us buy the house\u2014this is how you show your gratitude?\u201d<\/p>\n

I was left speechless.<\/p>\n

That Sunday, when they arrived, I acted normal and even prepared their favorite meal.<\/p>\n

But without telling anyone, I had already planned something to change the way those Sundays would be remembered.<\/p>\n

Once everyone had eaten, I told them the kitchen was left for them to clean. They hesitated and then went to see it.<\/p>\n

What they found shocked them. I had deliberately made the kitchen look like a disaster\u2014broken dishes, spilled food, scattered ingredients, and mess everywhere. It looked completely chaotic.<\/p>\n

I told them, \u201cIf this house is yours, then cleaning it is your responsibility, not mine.\u201d<\/p>\n

After that, I packed my things and left for a while to give myself space.<\/p>\n

That night, my husband called angrily, saying I had humiliated him in front of his family and crossed a line.<\/p>\n

From my perspective, I was trying to make him understand my frustration after being ignored for so long.<\/p>\n
