In the normally peaceful Catalina Foothills above Tucson, Arizona, a quiet retirement community became the focus of a troubling missing-person case. On Saturday, January 31, 2026, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie spent the evening with family before being dropped off at her home just before 10 p.m., where she was last seen going inside.<\/p>\n

By the following day, she had disappeared. Investigators discovered blood on her porch\u2014later confirmed to be hers\u2014while her phone, smartwatch, and car were still inside the house. Her Ring doorbell camera had been unplugged overnight, leaving no video footage. Given her limited mobility and need for daily medication, authorities quickly ruled out the possibility that she left on her own.<\/p>\n

Digital evidence pointed to unusual activity around 1:47 a.m., when the camera went offline, followed by motion alerts and the disconnection of her pacemaker app soon after. Officials suspect she may have been abducted.<\/p>\n

The FBI later joined the investigation, working with local authorities, offering a reward, and searching nearby areas. Despite widespread media coverage and reports of ransom messages, no suspects have been publicly named and there has been no confirmed evidence that she is alive.<\/p>\n
