The March air was bitterly cold, the wind slicing through my hoodie as I stood at the back entrance of her home.<\/p>\n

The delivery note had said: \u201cPlease knock loud.\u201d<\/p>\n

There were no lights on when I arrived.<\/p>\n

I knocked anyway.<\/p>\n

\u201cCome in,\u201d a faint voice called out.<\/p>\n

I placed the box on her lap. She opened it slowly, and as the warmth rose toward her face, she closed her eyes for a moment, holding onto that feeling.<\/p>\n

I left and walked back to my car.<\/p>\n

But I didn\u2019t start it right away.<\/p>\n

I just sat there, gripping the steering wheel, staring ahead.<\/p>\n

Flat tire. Need 45 minutes.<\/p>\n
