Ellen DeGeneres, the well-known comedian who has entertained audiences for decades, recently revealed that she is stepping away from her stand-up career. While performing in Santa Rosa, California, she told the audience that her current tour, \u201cEllen\u2019s Last Stand\u2026Up,\u201d<\/em> would be her final one.<\/p>\n

During the performance, a fan asked whether she might appear again in other venues, such as Broadway or films, after the tour ends. Ellen responded honestly, saying that this would be the last time people would see her perform. She added that following her upcoming Netflix special, scheduled for release at the end of 2024, she plans to retire completely.<\/p>\n

Reports have also indicated that several of her scheduled shows\u2014including those in Dallas, San Francisco, Seattle, and Chicago\u2014have been cancelled. Although Ellen has not officially commented on these cancellations, she did take a moment to thank her fans for their continued support, lightheartedly updating them by saying, \u201cLet me catch you up on what\u2019s been going on with me since you last saw me. I got chickens.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 66-year-old comedian also made jokes about recent controversies, humorously remarking that she was \u201ckicked out of show business for being mean,\u201d and adding that one day she might be \u201ckicked out for being old.\u201d Still, she firmly rejected the idea that she is unkind, stating, \u201cI am many things, but I am not mean.\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking back on her earlier fame, Ellen admitted that she once claimed not to care about public opinion, but now realizes she said that at the peak of her popularity. Despite the ups and downs, she expressed deep appreciation for her loyal fans.<\/p>\n
